Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: The meeting point of academic light and culture

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, located in the picturesque city of Almaty, is a comprehensive university with a long history and an international reputation. Since its founding in 1934, the University has become a leader in education, scientific research and cultural exchange in Central Asia, training countless outstanding scholars, politicians, entrepreneurs and artists from home and abroad.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is named after the great scholar of the Middle Ages, Al-Farabi, who left an immortal contribution in the academic history of the world with his extensive knowledge and profound wisdom. The name of the university not only symbolizes respect for knowledge and scholarship, but also reflects the noble pursuit of education and the beautiful vision of the Kazakh people for the future.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has a long history and its campus has witnessed the growth and changes of countless students. Since its establishment, the university has always carried the lofty mission of educating the elite and cultivating talents, and the depth of its history can be felt in every corner of the campus. Walking around the campus, it seems that you can travel through time and space to feel the wisdom and efforts of each generation of Al-Farabi people.

As a PhD student from China, this is my first year of study at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. I have been studying and living here for more than two months since I enrolled in spring. Although the time here is not long, but I have fallen in love with this university, here not only the beautiful campus scenery, but also the friendly teachers and classmates. Every time I walk into the campus, I can’t help but pick up my mobile phone to take pictures and record the unique architecture and beautiful scenery of the campus. The teachers and classmates in the university are also very warm and friendly to me, they care about my study and life, and they are willing to help me solve the difficulties, it is because of their kind and eager care and help, I left a very good impression on Kazakhstan, and also make me quickly integrate into the life here.

In the ocean of learning, I was fortunate to meet a person who was like a beacon of light — my supervisor Usseinova Karlygash. She not only led me forward with her excellent professional knowledge and working ability, but also warmed every student who needed help with her incomparable beauty, gentleness and sense of responsibility. As a doctoral student of law, I am well aware of the hardships and complexities of the academic road, but under her guidance, every step has become solid and clear. Her help goes far beyond academic guidance. She made careful arrangements to help me contact foreign adviser, opening up new horizons and possibilities for my research. In the process of preparing the doctoral research plan, she was not only my supervisor, but also my thought partner, listening to my every idea, discussing and perfecting with me. Patiently answering my every question, her advice was always to the point, guiding me deeper into the mysteries of the law.

At the same time, in my academic journey, meeting teacher Ms Albina was a precious gift in my life. In the face of academic challenges and life puzzles, she is always the one who gives me endless support and care. She is not only my teacher, but also a thoughtful friend who always thinks from my point of view and paves the way for me to move forward. Ms Albina’s help was particularly critical in the search for foreign adviser. She not only actively helped me contact and gave me timely feedback, but also patiently assisted me in preparing all the necessary submission materials to ensure that every step was accurate. When I was feeling anxious and nervous because of the language barrier, she always comforted me with her gentle voice: «Don’t worry, everything is ok.» These simple words warm my heart like the sun, and let me regain confidence. What is more valuable is that Ms Albina’s concern for my study and life goes far beyond the scope of the general teacher-student relationship. She helped me to contact other departments of the school and solve various problems I encountered in study and life. Every time she helped me, I deeply felt that I was not alone with her company.

During my first year of study at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, I felt very lucky to meet my supervisor Usseinova Karlygash and teacher Ms Albina. Although I am in a foreign country, I do not feel lonely and helpless. It is under their guidance that I have learned how to face difficulties and challenges, and more importantly, I have learned how to become a more resilient and loving person. In the coming days, I will pass on this warmth and strength to everyone I meet.
